La Mirada, CA – The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has approved Solid State Devices, Inc.’s 1N5807, 1N5809, and 1N5811 for inclusion on its Qualified Product List (QPL). JAN, JANTX, JANTXV, and JANS screening per MIL-PRF-19500/477 are available for these 6 amp, 50 – 150 volt power rectifiers.
The construction of SSDI’s 1N5811 series offers key advantages over similar products. SSDI is the only QPL supplier offering these devices with solid silver leads. In contrast to copper leads, these devices are ideal for welding and eliminate plating issues. When utilized as solar array bypass or blocking diodes for photovoltaic (PV) panels, the solid silver leads can be welded to the bus bar of satellites / spacecraft. The flat leads package option is also available as solid silver facilitates the forming of the leads. SSDI’s 1N5811 series also boasts a rugged void-free ceramic frit glass construction with a high temperature Category I eutectic metallurgical bond. SSDI’s proprietary processes lead to more robust diodes with excellent liquid-to-liquid cryogenic thermal shock performance.
The 1N5811 series also produces high efficiency performance. These diodes offer a low forward voltage drop of 0.925 V max (25°C, 6 A), low leakage current of 5 µA max (25°C) and hyperfast reverse recovery time of 30 ns max (25°C). With this combination of high performance and high reliability, the 1N5811 series can be used for a variety of military and space applications.
